OLYMPIA HOUSING

Over the past few years, the Department of Health and Human Services has been progressively implementing a programme of rejuvenating housing stock that originally formed the athletes’ village for the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games. 

This project, comprising three consolidated suburban sites and eight new single and double storey dwellings, forms part of that programme - it also continues our ongoing relationship with the DHHS.  New dwellings are arranged on the site in two east-west bands, allowing us to maximise northern edges and the passive thermal performance of each home.  All Living spaces are north facing and have direct access to light-filled courtyards, creating a healthy internal and external living environment.
