Facade Refurbishment_Swinburne Uni, Hawthorn VIC. Australia Completed 2010

This project is reflective of BENT Architecture’s commitment to the sustainable re-use and revitalisation of existing buildings.

The facades of the existing 1980’s building on Burwood Rd were dramatically transformed to house the new SUT Aviation Department. The upper facade has become reminiscent of a giant signage board, activated by passing traffic, with interior flight simulators that can take you anywhere in the world!  A Cessna aircraft is displayed in the front window directly below.  Minor refurbishment of the building’s interior spaces was also included.
